Gordon Brush Mfg. Co., Inc. hosted an Open House on December 3, 1998 to commemorate the move to their new 51,000 square foot facility in Commerce, CA. This move, which took place over the Fourth of July weekend, signifies the growth Gordon Brush has attained over the past 47 years. It also illustrates Gordon Brush's commitment to the future and its customers. Attended by over 250 people, the open house included a tour of the new facility, an inaugural ceremony with Mayor Sylvia Munoz, wonderful catered food and "The Balloon Lady" who made extremely creative balloon ornaments for the adults and children present. In attendance were customers, vendors, employees and their families and friends.

"This is a big day in the history of Gordon Brush", commented Ken Rakusin, President and CEO. "To give you an idea of where the company has come from, today I have signed vendor and payroll checks that amount to the same dollars Gordon Brush earned in annual revenue 25 years ago. To me this illustrates our growth, and our commitment to continue that growth."

"We at Mellon First Business Bank feel very fortunate to be partners with and assist Gordon Brush with their business" said Jim DeStefano of Mellon First Business Bank. "They are a quality operation, and we look forward to many years of doing business together. This Open House is first class, well organized, well laid out and provides people with a great sense of what a solid brush making company is all about."

Several customers commented on how they "never knew the range of products Gordon Brush has to offer, from scratch brushes to large cylinder to small tube brushes". One customer noted: "If I had known Gordon made these golf brushes (a give-away item for the golf bag) I would have begun doing business with them long, long ago".

Sam Dixon, General Manager of Jewel Wire Co., Inc, Pomfret, CT, has been a supplier to Gordon Brush virtually since the company's inception. "I was very impressed with the layout of the new building and the machinery, and especially impressed with both the employees giving the tours and operating the machinery. As a supplier, It is nice to see a progressive company like Gordon Brush position itself into a facility that will allow them to grow and expand long into the future.
